All Support Partners staff attend training in accordance with current Skills for Care Common Induction Standards, as well as a comprehensive NVQ program.

Topics covered include: Moving and Handling, Health and Safety, Food Hygiene, Safe Handling of Medication, Emergency First Aid, Principles of Care, Basic Infection Control and Adult Protection training.

Support Partners staff also undertake specialist training in Dementia Care, Epilepsy Care, Parkinson’s Disease, and Multiple Sclerosis.

All staff employed with Support Partners undergo thorough checks and training to ensure that they are of the highest calibre to provide you with the care and support that you need..

Support Partners staff undergo a robust recruitment and selection process, as well as an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau (CRB) Check which includes:

• Protection of Vulnerable Adults list check (PoVA)
• Protection of Children Act list check (PoCA)
• Information held by DfES under section 142 of the Education Act 2002 of those considered unsuitable for or banned from working with children
• Information from the local police force.
